Our Story

Penny began as a quiet decision.
In the spring of 2012, while designing her wedding, Ayca realised that flowers were no longer a pastime. They required discipline, instinct and structure — and she wanted to pursue them seriously.
After a decade in the corporate world, she chose to retrain formally in floristry. She studied at the FlowerSchool New York under Eileen Johnson, whose clarity of approach and respect for technique confirmed the direction she was taking. In May 2013, Penny was established by Ayca Paksoy Sozen and it opened its first studio in Istanbul. Built carefully, supported by family and an exceptional early team, it developed into a recognised floral house known for its considered installations and curated living gifts.
In December 2019, Penny opened its London studio in Chelsea. Over the following years, Penny has collaborated with international fashion houses and cultural institutions including Hermès, LVMH, Baccarat, Ladurée, Cipriani, Condé Nast, Raffles, The Pierre New York and the Brooklyn Museum, Vogue. Each collaboration was shaped in response to the identity and setting of the institution involved.
Today, the studio offers a focused selection of seasonal cut flowers, curated plants, orchids, succulents and ferns, alongside an ongoing Floral Programme, Private & Corporate Engagements, and Design Experience sessions. Penny continues to operate with the same principles on which it was founded: discipline, proportion and respect for the material.
In Good Company
Penny's work has taken us into many different worlds. Along the way, we have been fortunate to collaborate with a number of brands and institutions whose values and appreciation for craftsmanship resonate with our own.
